A comment from Ray

I don’t know how much more we could squeeze into one newsletter. But since you wrote and said what you think is what most people think, we’re posting your comment so others can give us their thoughts.
Our monthly expenses for five dedicated Web servers and other business expenses. do not go down over time — they go up — just like most people’s living expenses. We’re struggling financially now, but we hardly think our newsletter is one big commercial. As pointed out above, there is a wealth of information in every issue of newsletters.
We’re sorry you feel as you do. Let’s see how many agree with you.
Ray…
Speak for yourself! Perhaps you ought to have read the blog responses to the article on “the future of cloudeight.” It would definitely would have punched a huge hole in your claim of “…what a lot of people are thinking.” Please refrain from the use of such fabrication. You have documented opinions from other Cloudeight customers? If you can vault such a claim, then perhaps you can provide us with your URL where you serve the needs of a “growing” community of users, in a multitude of areas and, oh yes, add free. I for one, appreciate the efforts of T.C. & E.B. in producing true value in their publication. You won’t find thier dedication to serving their subscibers and providng TRUTH, anywhere else. If you find their publication unpalitable…exercise your obvious option.
T.C. & E.B., keep on, keeping on. Your service and deication to all of us, is invaluable. Bar none! Nuff said.
I agree with Bryan. Nuff said. PS: Don’t read the Ads.
Jim Sparks
Ray, afraid I do not share your opinion. Love the newsletters. Guess if you want a “technospeak” newletter you would have to go elsewhere to find it.
They are not making you read the newsletter you don’t like it cancel then It the number 1 newsletter
Ray, everybody has the right to their opinion, but should also have the right to defend it. I’m wondering just what you think is making this “newsletter get to be more of a commercial”? Please be specific.
First off, I don’t agree with you even a teeny-tiny bit.
And personally, I think it’s arrogant to try to justify YOUR opinion by claiming to speak for “a lot of people”. How many readers of this newsletter did you poll? I, for one, “didn’t get the memo”. If you’d like to conduct one, there’s a spot to do that in the “NotOverTheHill forum. I think you might enjoy being a member there so you can get immediate responses to your personal observations of this newsletter or any other subject you might enjoy or get benefit from. There’s a really good chance you are “alone” on the particular issue you’ve raised here…maybe not. You won’t know ’til you post a poll.
TC and EB Keep on, keepin on. You’re doing just fine.
I agree, TC& EB are the Greatest!!! He’s not Speaking for me. That is for sure. I’m a Life Time Member, and always only Listen to Both of You’s.
Sorry RAY but Speak Only for Yourself!!!
Ray, there’s always someone like you who likes to take the liberty of speaking for everyone using their own opinion as the be all and end all. Please don’t speak on my behalf because I, like the majority of members using NOTH’s as far as I can detect, just don’t agree with you.
I can’t think of any other site that offers the information and honesty that TC and EB do.
Thanks TC adn EB for all that you do for us all!
Ray, I’m sure not one of those people who are thinking that!! TC & EB are the best at what they do and have helped me twice and never have I had a complaint!!! Keep up the good work TC and EB….there are “those of us” who love you!!!
I’ve been with Cloudeight for quite a few years. There is slot of information packed into every issue. Sometimes I read the same issue several times to digest all of it. I’m also sorry some people just cannot get enough.
Can Ray name the “lot of people” to which he refers? He is the only one (since 2000) that I have ever seen say that.
Ray, what are you talking about? The newsletter’s are nothing short of fabulous for ALL the help and truth they print for us all. The information it provides is invaluable! Don’t change a thing TC and EB!
The InfoAve newsletters have tons more info in them than any other newsletter I receive on any subject. TC and EB: Keep up the good work! This guy Ray doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Ray, as a reader of these newsletters for at least a decade, I can only say that you don’t speak for me in your “lots of people”… It is my opinion that each new issue is as informative in an easy to understand way as they have ever been… Keep them coming TC & EB. You are doing a wonderful job telling it like it is and keeping us safe.
Ray, I have been a subscriber and/or reader to this newsletter since they began and they do NOT have ‘commercials’. The infomercials are only to help them financially bring you, I and thousands of others this FREE newsletter. I depend on TC and EB’s newsletter because I feel that they are the only ones who will tell us the truth regarding a product. So, before you put your foot in your mouth again why don’t you check out some other newsletters, the digital goddess is one that comes to mind and compare them. Keep up the great work TC and EB you are loved and respected by far more than you know. Oh, one more thought as I am ‘rambling’ I love the humor and the essays and the ramblings and as Holly said “Don’t change a thing!”. May 2013 be kind to your endeavors.
It is a fact of life commercials pay for free stuff . I am thankful they have not resorted to what every one else is doing and that is letting you pay the price with spy ware and the such with bundling . I have used the service almost from the beginning it is why I can say I have a clean computer now . These two people have kept so many safe we should all be donating and often. You will not find as honest a news letter as this one so load us down with commercials we do not have to click on them but maybe we should at least click and look at what is being advertised . As soon as my check comes in I will donate and if everyone did that just maybe these two could afford a vacation now and again . If you go for the so called free stuff you can come here and get it fixed for a reasonable price, or you can get involved with dishonest people and wind up losing more than you care to.
Holy Cow! Where did this guy come from? Ray you are so far out in left field that you will never get anywhere. You most certainly did not speak for me and I do not think you speak for anyone else in TC & EB’s following. If we had more people like them and more newsletters like the one they publish, the internet would be a much safer place. You have a choice you know, you are not forced into reading the newsletter. Please TC & EB do not pay any attention to these kinds of people, you know exactly what we all think of you, and that you can always count on.
I echo what Brian has said. I have had so much useful info over the years, and would hate to think that one day the newsletters might cease
Common sense should tell Ray than NO business can operate without an income. I go to work expecting to be paid. When you operate a web newsletter/magazine, AND if you get the free version, how do you think they are going to be able to keep devoting time to something that they are not getting a return from? The ads help pay for the service, and, the awesome advice and tips people get from this newsletter. Do you expect to do work and not get paid? If that is the case, you must be better off then most of us! So why don’t you open your wallet and donate some of those dollars to Cloudeight InfoAve today, or at least say a BIG humbling “Thank You” for all the help they give us to help keep our computers running smoothly throughout the week! There is NO free lunch….
I think TC & Eb deserve a medal for the amount of work and effort they put in to their programmes. There is just no one or no company give us share of their extensive knowledgeand friendly advice freely, and might I add their jovial company and amusing esseys. I just don’t know where Bryan is coming from and certainly am not interested in his childish comments.
Keep up the good work TC and EB. We all just think you are just grand.
Cheers Ivan in Sunny New Zealand.
I will not go into a long reply to Ray. I will only say that the info that is put out in these newsletters is very informative and I for one commend TC and EB for all that you do! Keep up the great work!
I like your newsy letters, just miss all the stationery and stuff, my smiley cons , cant get them to download with windows 8, love those things!
Lincoln said: You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. Ray must be one of those who can’t be pleased any of the time!!!! Sad. I’ve been a subscriber for many years and have great respect and affection for this publication and the authors.
Poor Ray. He has to hide behind “a lot of people” because
he is unhappy. With such a volume of support, I hardly think there are “a lot of people” who agree. But, if they are unhappy, no one is requiring them to continue reading the information provided. TC & EB keep up the good work of keeping us reliably informed. We appreciate it!
Ray you certainly don’t speak for me. I seldom respond to idiotic statements but felt compelled, to respond here. Have you gone to any other page on the internet? I thought not because they are all FULL of ads, Cloudeight is the best! TC EB hope your health is improving. As stated in an above comment please exercise your option Ray to not read the letter, but don’t pretend to speak for me.
Ray, I have no idea what you are referring to. If every newsletter I subscribe to (and I have a lot mailed to me)was as clean and informative as this one, I’d be the happiest camper anywhere. Even if it WAS filled with ads, which it absolutely isn’t, I’d still swear it was one of the most helpful and informative mailings I get! Maybe you just had a bad day when you wrote your letter.
Did ray even read the newsletter. Please don’t speak for me thankyou very much. By the way Ray, do everyone a favor and just unsubscribe. It’s easy and painless if you can through all the ads and commercials. By the way the unsub link is at the bottom amongst all those pesky ads……
Ray – These people have done nothing but try and help people since they first started up. In fact I am an early life time member and they have helped me numerous times over the years. These are hard times, if you haven’t noticed and one has to do what is necessary to make it. The thing that I find amazing is that they have stayed true to their commitment to help people without selling any out.
I find nothing wrong with the newsletters, quite enjoy reading them and getting them every week (and daily)… keep on doing as you are guys, some people are never satisfied.
You have done more good for your readers, It is much appreciated.
Ignore that drivel.
Haven’t seen hide nor hair of Ray or the undocumented “a lot of people” chiming in on this issue since the responses started. TC & EB keep up the good work that you’ve been doing.
I cannot believe I read that! I love Cloudeight and look forward to it so much. I have learned a lot from you over the years and saved myself running into a lot of unforeseen problems. I appreciate all that you do, and hope you will long continue sharing with all your grateful admirers out there.
Al I can say is keep up the good work you’ve been doing for the past so many years. I enjoy your newsletters and all the other things you people do. God Bless all of you
I may respect your right to an opinion, Ray, but I sure don’t agree with it. TC and EB provide a truly valuable service. I don’t mind in the least seeing an odd advert or two, although I actually don’t really notice them. I’m too interested in all the help that is being freely given to all of us. So I’m certainly not among that throng of people you allude to in your message. Thank you TC and EB for all you do for us!
That comment from ‘Ray’ sounds like a comment from an unreasonable child so here goes: Ray, please go to your room and sit in the time out chair and think about what you just said. You can come out when you are ready to present yourself as a grateful human being.
Keep on keepin’ on TC n’ EB! and thanks for asking for input on this 😉
Where has this guy been? I think he forgot to put his brain in gear. TC and EB we are all with you!
Ditto….Ditto….Dotto! TC & EB in my opinion are the best of the best in informing us with easy to keep our PC’s out of trouble and operating properly. I wouldn’t want to lose them, and I greatly appreciate all they do for most of us. I also think Ray owes them an apology.
As everyone else seems to think, TC & EB, you are invaluable to us all.
Ray, you don’t have to subscribe.
If Ray is so unhappy with the newsletter, then let him UNSUBSCRIBE to it. I for one don’t know what I would do without all the helpful information, that TC and EB give to us every week. They have helped me out so many times, before, for free, before they sold Keys. I bought 6 of the keys, and I tell you they are well worth the price. EB went thru my whole computer, and now it runs really great! I donate when I can. Many thanks TC & EB, keep up the good work !!!
I simply cannot believe this “Ray” guy. In my opinion, his taste is in his mouth!! He also has a vivid imagination in thinking that there are “others” who join him in believing this “commercial” business. I sure would like him to back up his claims and I bet he CAN’T for I have been with Cloud Eight for many years and I, like so many others, have nothing but praise for TC and EB and the wonderful job they are doing, I have a folder which I have accumulated over time and in every issue or on those informative CD’S (the electronic books) there are loads of information which we have really learned a lot of things from. In short, he is two sandwiches short of a picnic if he thinks his opinion reflects those of others!! TC and EB, please ignore him, that may be his erroneous decision but it is only one!! Keep up your good work, we love and need you!
The latest newsletter was filled with useful information, as the newsletters always are. I honestly do not understand the “more of a commercial” comment at all and most certainly am not in agreement with it.
Ray does not speak for me!
Well, Ray, if you and “a lot of people” for whom you speak, don’t like the newsletter, you should feel free to not read all the excellent information contained in it. You do not speak for me or 99.9% of the thousands of people who have been benefiting over all these years from the wonderful information learned on this site. Maybe you’d feel a lot better if you gave a few bucks to these wonderful people to ease their financial burden. Have you been to other sites that have misleading links and advertisements galore? They are untrustworthy and not worth the time of day. You don’t deserve the ability to read this newsletter. Shame!
Ray, You got to be kidding!!!! Not only are you in the minority you are the minority. I find the newsletters both educational and helpful in understanding a complex subject—Computers. If you cannot garner the good from Darcy and TC’s efforts you leave quietly.
Ray, I am gobsmacked. SMH
Urban Dictionary: smh – http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=smh
Just move along TC & EB. You are doing fine.
Ray, I don’t think I can add anything here that everyone else has not covered. You definitely are not speaking for me.
I personally have never had enough money ahead to enjoy the use of Cloudeight Computer Care or many other things I would love to have advantage of but one thing I do know, TC and Darcy still want me to have the full benefit of their advice and tips as anyone else gets. I just wish I were rich, I would happily back Cloudeight and expect nothing in return. I bought the Smileycons, Infornation Avenue Premium all the Ebooks and donated a few pennies a couple of times but it not enough for all they have done for me and many others like me and the greatest thing of all is they treat me with the same respect and friendship as anyone. I could not find better information or service anywhere. So I am so very happy I am still able to speak for myself, God help me if you had to do it. I am however sorry that you feel the way you do.
TC and Darcy, thank you with all my heart for your unending help, information and advice. I hope and pray that in spite of ones like myself who can not give more, that God will richly bless you and your company profits and health in 2013. You deserve so much more than you get.
Love you both,
Carolyn
Please don,t listen to Ray. I,d be lost without cloud8 newsletters. Thank you so much.
Simply put, Ray is a JERK
I really enjoy the letters and look forward to reading them every Friday. Thanks so much for the help you have given me over the years.
Here in Australia we love Cloudeight and think Ray is totally on his own with his comments…waiting to see who his “other people” are !!! Keep up the good work EB and TC
Well Ray, now that you have had your 10 minutes of glory, you can pull your head in.
Well said Mitch .I would add that Ray should come to South Africa and join the Ostrich’s and stick his head in the sand .TC and EB should just unsubscribe the ungrateful Bxxxxxx
It is refreshing to read the favourable comments from all the cloud eight members who have/are supporting TC and EB with their wonderful advice and service that they provide to us grateful people around the world.
Even here in Australia we are able to access the newsletter weekly and can receive Cloud Eight Computer Care Service when required.
Ray, old chap…making half baked comments quoting”unknown other people” to us is very dangerous.
Your credibility has gone down the “gurgler”,and as stated by other supporters unsubscribe if you feel that you can do better elsewhere…??
I would like to bet that there is no other Newsletter
group or company that will provide the detail that we receive from Cloud Eight weekly and in fact ..daily.
Ray
Please do not include me when you say what a lot of people are thinking. I know what I think and I do not have a clue about what anyone else is thinking unless they tell me and I know for sure I didn’t tell you anything.
Are you sure you were reading the right new letter. I wish more people had as much information, with as little advertising as Cloudeight Infoave.
TC & EB keep up the good work of keeping me up to date. I appreciate it!
P.S.
Ray
Do you subscribe to the Premium version or the free one. Just curious?
Ray – speak for yourself if you have a complaint, don’t use “other people” unless you name them.
TC and EB are the most honest and trustworthy people around. Please you Two keep up the good work. If that means a few more ads so be it, we all have a choice to click on it or not
You Ray also have the option to read the newsletter or not – use it.
I appreciate your Newsletters and have done for many years – they have so much reliable information and it is great that you have put your honesty and integrity before other things which so many are turning to in these difficult times.
Surely, no one of us can agree with Ray’s strange opinion which seems to fly in the face of truth. God be with you.
NOT…who are the “lot of other people” that you speak of?
This is the best newsletter on-line bar none!
Surely you jest! Only a jerk would attack most other peoples friends!
Well I was going to say what everyone else said above – too late, you two (TC & EB) rock, and Brian, when you recover from this verbal ass kicking, kindly keep your opinions to yourself, if you don’t like it, go elsewhere – whats difficult about that?
Scott,
I don’t follow….either your confusing me for “Ray,” (heaven forbid) or somehow you think I’ve suffered a “verbal asskicking” for my supportive comments for T.C.,E.B. & Cloudeight. I don’t apologize for that. I am guessing it is the former.
I always look forward to receiving my Newsletter from you. It is so informative and well written. I am very thankful for you both, and pray God will bless you abundantly in the New Year! Please keep on keeping on! Remember no one can EVER please everyone. All we can do is the best we can — and you two are simply the BEST!
It looks like I’m a late comer here to Answering blog.
Enough already said, thank you all.
Questions for Ray/
Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed or did the wife refuse to make your breakfast and bring it out to the dog house?
That is where you should be for even entertaining such thoughts, and then have the audacity to utter them!
I can’t see what the fuss is about. You have to pay for newspapers and magazines, and still get besieged by adverts. You can choose to read them or ignore them. When the adverts appear on TV you can either sit and watch or go out and mow the lawn, or bath the dog – these days you’d probably have time to do both. I enjoy getting the information, and I’ve shared quite a lot of it with family and friends in the past.
I dont think I can say any more good things it has all been said so ray sit down and have a good read and just think of all the hared work it took to keep us safe and up to date. [ TC EB ] just put ray in the unhappy folder.
Congratulations Mr. Ray on giving us a successful lesson in “trolling”.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)
why, you learn something new everyday..I had to go look it up at your link. That is the first I have seen of the word trolling.. I love the new words that become official!
OMG! You’re right Darcy. It’s been a long time since I heard that term, but never did I see it in internet context. A great link referral, Bob.
When I was young(er) “trolling” meant one of two things to my generation. 1) it’s what we were doing while idly riding around in our cars (4 or more inside) looking for cute guys/gals to playfully harrass or strike up a conversation with. (Wanna go “trolling” for awhile?)
(I had a beat-up convertible…but it shined while it “rattled and rolled”.)
2) Trolling is also what we did when my dad took us fishing. We had our fishing lines dragging in the water while we kept our boat continuously moving slowly forward (trolling for fish to bite)
The comment about your wonderful site couldn’t be further from the truth! As a card-carrying member of the senior class, I depend on your wonderful, informative newsletters and daily info to teach me how to use my computer. I can tell you that many of us appreciate the site you so generously share with us. When one is on a fixed income, the cost of computer classes would be prohibited. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I won’t buy into this argument as it is garbage but I will say I wish all my ads were this informative – keep up the good work guys.
Come on, Ray. If you don’t like the Newsletter don’t read it. As for me, I have found more useful information in this Newsletter than anywhere else on the Internet.
Hah– what more needs to be said– Here in Canada you are greatly appreciated EB & TC.—I haven’t done a pole but no one has ever said anything that was derogatory. Love and NEED you folks
RAY!!?? um! sounds like a ROUGE to me…. worse than a virus or malware!! I am sure there would be VERY VERY FEW PEOPLE WHO WOULD SUPPORT RAY’S STATEMENT, IF ANY, who are subscribed to Cloudeight news letter or who are honest and know anything to do with TC & EB! Enough has all ready been said, refuting Ray’s statement, but just wanted to say what seemed obvious to me.
I’m with Cloudeight, and their honest work and effort and as I am a life time member will be helping them with donations from time to time. keep up the good Honest work TC & EB, thank you, Jeff.
Seriously? More like a TV commercial? Really?
Ray, we are NOT reading the same newsletter!
Ditto to all the above!! Speak for yourself Ray. You certainly are not speaking for me. (I guess you don’t watch TV.)
Ditto on each and every comment already posted. I can speak for myself and I get so tired of one rotten apple trying to spoil things for everyone else! There is no one else out there that does what TC and EB does for all of us and I am so grateful.
I,too, am coming in late to this blog and everything has been said – and better than I could have done. Wonder where Ray is and his foolish comments. Not a peep out of him.
Hang in there TC and Darcy. We need you, and thank you.
@TC – Hope you get back to your normal(?)healthy self – and be nice to Darcy.
Ray
you have been out voted, keep up the good work, EB Tc
If you don’t like don’t read it
LOl Ray I just gone done playing cards on yahoo game site. I think I met you there! I’ll let others figure out what that means!
I completely disagree.
Lizza
I have to agree with Ray. I’ve been with CloudEight nearly from the start, and it went from asking people for just one dollar to keep CloudEight from “going under,” up until now.
Just for the heck of it I removed all the ads, commercials, ringing their own bell, etc., from their premium news letters. There wasn’t much left to it. Every C8 Website is plastered with ads. I get four other newsletters similar to C8, and C8 has more ads than the other four newsletters combined. The products they sell keeps them floating.
I also get the Cloudeight Info Ave, and it’s just a repeat of the premium one, the C8 start page I use, plus a ton of ads. How convenient is that?
Just recently CloudEight bragged about fixing thousands of computers by remote access, and yet they are near to going under and asking for more money again in the name of a donation. Perhaps a financial advisor would be an asset to CloudEight?
About two weeks before Christmas I suggested to C8 to offer a gift to their customers that have been giving to them for years. A gift is not a $10 off sale. A gift is free. I suggested a choice of one of four premium screen savers. What a wonderful PR that would have been, and in reality it would have cost them little, if anything.
Saying they offer free stationary only goes so far. Most of the people I write to can’t even accept C8 stationary, which is top-notch, top of the line stationary. Beautiful stuff! I write to hundreds of people from all over this planet. I end up using stationary that I’ve made myself, or downloaded from someone else.
Guess what. I didn’t even hear back from them, let alone any real gifts for anyone.
I am not saying any of this with any malice. It’s just how I feel about it. It’s something that has been bothering me for awhile now, but not enough that I’m going to do anything different. Whether I take advantage of the ads or not is entirely up to me. I will still use C8 as my home page on Google Chrome.
Hi and thanks for your feedback. I would be intersted to know what newsletters you get that have this much info and no ads?
On stationery, we still have severalt thousand visitors and downloads a day, so apparently many still use, share and enjoy. While we have google ads on our site, we do not allow any kind of popups or popunders. If you are not sure what these are, try visiting some of the many “free” sites like cnn.com, weather.com etc. And, not sure if you realize it, but it takes several million views to see any income from ads; it does supplement site income some and is a needed resource.
Finally, we get thousands of mails a month and many, like yours, came as a “comment or suggestion” not a question, and we simply cannot answer each and every one of them. But, I do read each and every one of them. Your idea was actually used – since we already offer one of our premium savers free (and smileycon gold memmbers get all ten free), instead at Christmas we offered CalendarPal, FolderMagic and Smileycons for free all week to our Premium susbcribers; there were hundreds of downloads.
I understand you are not saying with any malice, so please don’t take my answer that way; I don’t mean it in a bad way.
InfoAve free is a condensed version of Premium; this is why we ask Premium members to unsubscribe from free edition. It costs thousands to maintain an email list, so unsubbing from a duplicate type of newsletter helps us too 🙂
Thanks for being a member for many years, and we hope you will continue to use, share and enjoy.
Darcy
Hi Darcy ,I wouldn’t even bother answering
a/holes (excuse the French but these types make me mad).Just unsubscribe them as the less we supporters hear rubbish and codswallop like this the better .Don’t waste your precious time with hillbillies .
I have been receiving info avenue for years and if it wasn’t for the newsletter I would sure have a lot of computer issues. Speak for yourself Ray, I enjoy the newsletter ads and all.
Oh my ….Ray I think you just made a big idiot out of yerself….If you plan on staying you might wanna change yer name an try to get a fresh start….still lookin for alot of people you referred to…looks like yer the lone wolf, yer pack musta deserted ya…if ya ever had one….
you are the BEST?..Don’t even keep this Ray in your, mind for one second. He must be from another planet as far as I could make out! Just shred it! And forget it. You saw how many others love you both to pieces. No one works harder, and truthful as you two!!
At least Matthew made his comments without dragging a lot of people that are non existing into it.
I’ll join with those giving Cloudeight my vote. Actually, I’m wondering what’s going on with this guy because what he wrote simply does not fit and doesn’t make any sense.
Only one to agree with Ray? Let me throw my two cents in as well, then.
I agree with Matthew, above, who mentions other newsletters that stay afloat with fewer ads.
I do not begrudge C8 from making a living off advertising – they gotta make their money somehow. I can even deal with the amount of advertising presented – I ignore it.
I do take issue with the way it is presented, though. Much of the advertising is presented in a way that makes it look like another article by the authors. Sometimes it even is! It’s one thing to endorse the products you advertise, but shoe-horning them into articles is almost as shameful as all these software distributors you are always pointing fingers at for bundling software with their own products. Seriously? IT’S NO DIFFERENT!
The problem with bundling software is it is often done in a sneaky fashion (like writing an ad that looks like an article). I have no issue with software bundled honestly, where the installation screens give the option to add the other software.
And I have no issue with ads presented as ads. But man, you got a lot!
As Matthew says, it’s not enough to make me change my ways, but you asked for a response to what Ray said, and after skimming over the other comments, I felt I better get in there before poor old Ray gets lynched!
I am quite concerned that I may be losing the plot here!!
I have just read all of the above and then read a couple of the latest Info Ave Premium newsletters. I was trying to find all the ads and commercials that Ray and Matthew have been talking about and I couldn’t find them.
I did find helpful information about several excellent products and services provided by two wonderful people for a small cost!!
Darcy and TC have been helping thousands of people all over the world with their computers for many years. They are also trying to earn a living and deserve all the help we can give them. May they continue their excellent work for many years to come.
P.S. Do hope Ray bothers to come back and read all these comments, it may show how we really feel!!
Ray-fus & Matt-fus…. Don’t speak for me, Sirs. I do my own speaking! I am constantly clicking off ads that pop up all over the page at every ‘reading’ site I hop on. If you don’t like the ‘food’ I’m sure there’s another shop down the street which might serve your needs to suit ya. Be grateful this one is FREE! I’ve learned more here than any place and I, for one, find what ever they sell is of good quality and I am grateful they clue us in on it. So ya’ll might try some link/site where ya have to click and click and click off their ads that are constantly popping up!
Have a good day!!
Ray was just having a bad day and took it out on you! I have learned loads from my newsletters and have never paid anything to all the hard working people on the team.
I am very glad I found this site years ago.
I love your newsletters! Please don’t ever stop!
Thank you!!
Ray, Matthew, SB…the Three “Scrooges.” My grandma used to say, “It’s like being kicked by a mule…you have to consider the source.” Ignore ’em, TC & EB. Your fans speak for themselves.
Well, Ray doesn’t speak for me. I still read and use the info in the newsletter. And, I’m glad I still have it to read.
There will always be people like Ray out there, unfortunately – part of the human condition. Keep on keeping on just the way you are and, hopefully, will be! Even though I am now a Mac user at home, I faithfully read and archive your newsletters – they still help me at work!!!
BTW, would you consider adding tips for the Mac? 🙂
Can’t agree with Ray, probably 90% of what I know about computers came from you guys, love you, hang in there forever and ever!
Is integrity, honesty, sharing your exceptional knowledge and expertise, humour and reliability worth viewing a few ads? For me, you bet your sweet bippy.
thanks alot. your both tc’s (top cats) to me
I have never seen so many positive comments for the good work that you both, TC and EB, do. There is so much information packed into your newletters so you can ignore Ray and keep the rest of us informed. He certainly only speaks for himself and perhaps he thinks he already knows it all. People like that have to complain and puff themselves up some way. I feel sorry for his family and friends.
Enough said. Just keep up keeping us informed.
I have been with Cloudeight from day one and I have never been disappointed with all the information they have shared with us over the years, I have learned so much from them in this ever changing world of computers….all the products they offer are in our best interest at the best prices….like everything else there is always someone who finds fault no matter what you do but just do not lump me in with the “lot of people say” group because I can speak for myself when I say this newsletter is thee best around and I hope it continues for a long time so let Ray take is sour grapes and go somewhere else and see how he makes out !
Have never written this kind of letter to any one before, but Ray’s comments really triggered a response. Who are these “a lot of people”? How easy to hide behind that statement. For me, I look forward to learning every week when I receive my newsletter and almost all computer knowledge I have has been thru the newsletter. If a few ads help pay for the newsletter, great, I say. I have complete trust in TC and EB and my New Year’s wish is for them to have good health, keep up the great work they are doing, and God bless you both. You are loved by thousands. You both are the best.
I would have to disagree with Ray. I find the info very informative. Granted, I still have XP and not Vista, 7,8 or 9. Ray has a right to his opinion, but so do the rest of us.
I would also like to add that I have experienced nothing but good from the entire team! They are always curtious and on the mark every single time!
If you don’t like it DON’T READ IT.
They are trying to print a little something for everyones taste. you just pick out what you like.
It called Freedom of speech.
Don’t pay any attention to the comment from Ray, your news letter is informative and to the point, if Ray finds your newsletter to commercialized let him find another news letter somewhere else, nobody said he has to stay with CloudEight, I for one love the newsletter to come in every week and look forward to it, I feel sorry for people like Ray, he is a whiner !
I would like to answer each and every one of you who took the time to respond to this. I personally spend 12 to 15 hour days oftentimes, and getting a nice positive response like these actually makes my day. It is a shame how one negative response from a member can kick me down; I will admit it. And, I know I should probably just ignore a comment like that, but being the people pleaser I am, I try to make every single member happy and sometimes I need to accept defeat and see that I can only make 99.9% happy. Wait.. 99.9? Ok. I can live with that 🙂
Also, I recognize many of you who responded are from NotOverTheHill and/or long time members.. thanks for making my day. And, those that made a negative comment.. you can bet I will do my part to turn you around with cyber sparkles 🙂
Darcy
YOU PEOPLE ARE TOO COOOOOL!!! Whats 3 people out of thousands & thousands of others that REALLY DO APPRECIATE YOU AND WHAT YOU DO? Don’t worry about it Darcy! We your fans have got your back cause we ALL LOVE YOU,,,debi
I HAVE BEEN WITH C8 since the e-book “YOUR COMPUTER WON’T
BITE” I don’t how long ago that was ,but I can’t wait to
read your newsletter and your tips have kept me useing
my computer,I am 78 . Ray just wants something for nothing.
LET HIM MOVE ON.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Blessings

Despite what Ray says…in my opinion….MOST of us love you! Keep the great newsletter coming!
Ray, go get your info some place else. TC & EB are the only people that explain things in easy to understand language. They spend countless hours researching sites before passing the info on the us. I have been on the computer since ’94 and if not for Cloudeight, I would still be in a fog about computing. I also didn’t receive your survey regarding whether I thought there were too many commercials. So don’t count me in. We don’t like negativity here.
Love you folks, TC & EB. Keep up the good work.
I have been a lifetime subscriber since year one. You still have the best newsletter out there for the information you give. I totally support you on the way your is written including the advertisement. Some people still thing everything should be free. There is no such thing as free. Please keep up the good work and Ray you can go find another newsletter that is free and no advertisement that is as good as this. You will never find it.
Having come in to the world of computers at an advanced age, I depend on the information and assistance from the great people at this site.
As for you Ray, in my 77 years, I’ve seen your typs come and go. It’s time for your departure. Don’t let the door hit you in the rear end as you leave—-
What a loser Ray, I for one would be lost without c8 I have learn’t so much over the years, I would not use any program unless it was endorsed by c8, please keep up the good work and help us to keep our computers working well, the computer world would be a sad place without you.
Hey peoples, just ignore someone like Ray. Sounds like another windbag to me.
Whatever floats your boat ray. TC & EB, always with my very best to you both. Truly, you all are few, far and between, in doing what you do in helping folks like me, and others similarly situated, thank you!
His turkey is stuffed with another kind of filling; I’ve followed you for years, and would be lost without the news letter and daily updates. Thanks, keep ’em coming!
I love your newsletter and always find something of value to read in it. More often than not, I find several things of interest.
I don’t know where these “others” are hiding out Ray, but they’re not anywhere near my computer. For what we pay for this newsletter , it’s a great value.
Ray, I have been a fan of TC and EB for a long time and your comments are way out of line. There are no better people on the Internet. They have struggled for a long time and people like you have no clue as to what they have been through. Their information and assistance are priceless. Ray, you are way out of line.
Darla from WI
I’m not to be included as one of the “a lots”. Just sayin, so please keep up the excellent work, and thank you for all you put into keeping your high standards.
I just don’t get this guy! I have learned so much from your news and tips, that even a techie I know has downloaded programs you recommended and was always amazed where I find these things ( until I showed him )and now even a pro. reads your newsletter.
That ought to say something !!!!
I am always glad to get your opinion and trust you totally !
So, thank you for helping ordinary people ( like me) and
teaching , and helping us!
So, just ignore that guy and keep up your good work!
As they say : you can’t please all people all the time !!!
And there is one in a million… so what??? Forget him !
Ray??? Are you kidding? I think you should check your ISP and see if you are receiving this Pro newsletter we folks have been receiving religiously for years. So full of wonderful programs, tips, and fun Ray. I so look forward to every issue and I even buy a lot of their great specials just to donate to a great cause. If given the choice, EB & TC or Facebook, EB & TC win hands down. Ray, you must still be reading or you wouldn’t be saying such negative comments. Keep up the wonderful newsletter EB & TC, I will keep donating as well as much as I can.
I don’t agree with Ray either. You have a great newsletter and as you can tell by all the notes from
others – ALL enjoy them. Keep them coming!!!
I understand where Ray is coming from, in his observation that InfoAve Premium has become ‘more of a commercial, like on TV, than it use to be. .It use to be a lot more informing. Just thought I would let you know what a lot of people are thinking….Thanks.”
That being said, I would like to point out that an issue of InfoAve Premium in 2003 contained about twelve articles, while a current issue of the same newsletter contains about twenty-six articles.
Times change, money’s tighter. In 2003, you could purchase a gallon of gasoline for $1.65. In 2013, you will more than likely pay closer to $3.20 per gallon.
The gallon is the same size now as it was in 2003, not larger.
It is true that there is some advertising included in the newsletter, but it’s good reliable advertising with programs that are beneficial to you the reader, not just to the revenue it would generate. We are willing to support hundreds of TV programs that have an increasing amount of advertising and half as much content, so why would we criticize a helpful newsletter?
Back in 2003, there certainly wasn’t a reliable service available like Computer Care, and NO ONE can dispute that this service could not be duplicated by anyone else, for even TWICE the price.
As many of our readers have already pointed out, they have had their computers in the shop for repairs, and when they got them back, there were all kinds of ‘extra programs’ there that had already been downloaded by the service person, or the programs were left ready to be downloaded by the customer (on the repair person’s recommendation, of course).
Where else would you find a site/newsletter that offered all the programs you need to keep your computer safe and running well, FOR FREE?
It’s true that there are links to extra programs that you could purchase, but the links offered, give you a safe download site where you aren’t tricked into adding something you didn’t want.
We all have different interests, so in order to appeal to everyone, there are a wide variety of programs offered.
We, as Infoave Premium readers, are given up to date, concise, easy to read/understand information about the computer world.
No other newsletter would hold our hand and guide us through the transition from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95, then Windows 98, Windows Me , Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and now Windows 8.
They even provide us with answers to our questions about older programs like Windows XP, from which they are gently trying to wean us.
There has been a great improvement, over the years, in the presentation of the newsletter. The current view is nicely laid out, organized and easy to read. It’s an excellent reference source, and even if they haven’t covered an issue that concerns you about computers, they will try to give you an answer you can understand, when you inquire.
The newsletter is definitely longer than it was, but the same good content is still there. If you reach a portion of the newsletter that doesn’t interest you, the scroll button is very easy to use.
Yes, there are accolades included about how much we appreciate their work, but who doesn’t like to hear that their efforts are appreciated?
In this world of short forms and ‘code speak’, it’s easy to fall into the habit of speaking in haste and generalities. Unfortunately, when something is said in any form of media, it is out there for all time.
Constructive criticism is good, but criticism for the sake of ‘having a word’ is cruel and demoralizing.
Let’s be more charitable and constructive in the future.
TC and Darcy, keep up the good work. We really do value and appreciate your newsletters.
Barb J.
Good day all
I just wish you people would stop and read what you wrote before you post. You can defend what you believe, not a problem. But most of you have sunk to name calling and making accusations of your own. All this has become is a dogpile.Someone mentioned a troll.Stop and think about it,who would benefit better from trolling than someone trying to see what the concensus would be IF Cloudeight started advertising.Sometimes I really wonder if a lot of these replies, statements are nothing more than “sock puppetry”.Sorry to say folks, that not all is as it may seem at times. This is my take, and your mileage may vary.Ray(if he’s even real) had his say,his belief. He stated what he thought was true to him,he didn’t descend into name calling or insulting others intelligence or what their turkeys were stuffed with. All I have seen is a lot of intolerant people answer.Just trying to level the playing field.Myself personally,I wouldn’t have even given this a go as the “editor”.I still (my opinion, and yes I’m entitled)believe this is/was a fishing expedition….Now you may dogpile on me.Hopefully some of you may pause for reflection.
All the Best
Mike
Ray….Give your head a shake! TC & EB are the greatest!
ray-the bottom line is, if this were an election, you’d lose in a landslide…nobody agrees with you
A load of rubbish. “Cloudeight InfoAve” is one of the most trustworthy free sites on the web. I always find their advice invaluable. TC and Darcy, keep up the good work – we would miss you both if you were not there.
Best regards
Walter.
I agree with you all.
I have been reading TC EB’s newsletters for years now and have found none to compare with their honesty, dedication to their readers and all the FREE info they work so hard to research for us.
My question to you is;would you do what they do?
‘Nough said.
Margaret
As a long standing member from Australia I think Ray is way off beam. In the words of a once popular song ” You never
know what you have lost until it’s gone”. Speaking for myself
and, I am sure many, many others “Long live Cloudeight Infoave”
I sort of agree with Ray. There are a lot of ads pushing products from Cloudeight in the newsletter. That said, there are also articles to help newbies included. So it balances out. But how else are they going to fund the operating costs of their site. So take what you can from this site, and ignore the rest, if it bothers you, don’t subscribe! Simple as that!
I have gotten so much wonderful information over the years from this newsletter. Ray you can only speak for yourself. If you no longer like it, then unsubscribe. TC & EB keep up the great work!
I LOVE and appreciate Cloudeight Infoave so much! They help the unfortunatly-techno-DEclined people like me with every newsletter. Dare I say a lot of “other people are thinking” the same way? Yaw! You Betcha! We need you TC & EB, quirky-fun sense of humor and all!
I thought I’d had a pretty good week what with the great summer weather ‘down under’ here in New Zealand, and then ran across Rae’s tirade on Sunday about what????? Have we been reading the same newsletters? Commercials?? Where are they? I’ve read and re-read his comments and have come to one conclusion. He’s got a problem, and it certainly hasn’t anything to do with CloudEight’s newsletters. I also note his one supporter (Matthew), and quite frankly I cannot figure out what his gripe is either. Is the moon in a strange position or something? While we know that it’s tough to put your heart and soul into projects year after year and get rubbish feedback like this, the simple fact is that you can’t please everyone all the time. There’ll be the odd winger and misrepresenter such as we have here, and that’s upsetting to say the least. I’ve been an avid reader/supporter of your newsletters since their inception and they’re first class. I can’t add any more to what 99.99% of your very satisfied customers have already gone at lengths to tell you. Keep up the good work TC and EB – we’re all behind you and wish you every success and good health over these rather troubled times. Sincerely Bryan
I appreciate every tip and bit of advice that you’ve given since day one, and look forward to your InfoAve Daily. If any commercials exist, I’ve not noticed. Thank you for time and concern for us.
I think Ray has his PC confused with his TV….
I do NOT agree with Ray…I ‘think’ he may be referring to the ‘accolades’ at the beginning of the newsletters. These notes are what let the rest of us know just how good TC and EB are. And what they can do in their chosen field. I have 3 keys myself. And you can bet I will use them when I need to.
SOME PEOPLE WANT EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING. (sounds a lot like those college graduates who will NOT pay off their college loans…It’s the ‘entitlement generation’.) I see there are plenty of responses here to Ray to let him know he is in the miniscule minority.
Keep up the good work. You can see how many appreciate you both and what you are doing.
THANK YOU
i have purchased one usb flash disk and also one direct computer care service key..i am a senior and live alone…tc and darcy have answered me directly with a couple of problems i did not understand..along with others, i also commend them for all the help i have read in their newsletters..thank you tc and darcy..enough said, please continue exactly what you are doing..
Ray, you are entitled to your opinion, and I have your back on that. However, my opinion is a bit different. I haven’t read other responses to this, but I do know Cloudeight cannot provide all they do for free. Ads help pay for this as well as I suppose some small remuneration they receive for some of the software bought through C8 ads.
I am totally okay with the ads, and C8 is certainly entitled to them–and I am glad they get that finacial help. Me, I read many of the ads, try out some of them, but am always educated a little more just by reading about them.
Hey Ray!
Quit your whining, Why don’t you find something else to do.
I’ve been reading this newsletter for many years and I like it!
GET LOST!
Ray- Please do not include me in “other people”. I am a life time member and I intend to stay that way, for Life. If you can do better then by all means please do so. I wold not be without this newsletter or the services it provides.
I am sorry this is a late comment as I’m taking care of an ill husband,
Truthfully, I don’t know how you find the time to search out all the info you give us each week and answer questions in detail. Your help is beyond outstanding. Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough.
Sorry to be so late in expressing my thoughts to Ray. First of all, don’t inclue me in your “lots of people”. Being 83 years old and impaired eyesight without a magnifier, it took quite awhile to read all the positive comments to your negative one. I’ve a lifetime member for many years and couldn’t DISAGREE with you more. If it weren’t for TC and EB, I wouldn’t be able to operate this computer. They have taught me what I know and did so with great respect. All the more reason, Ray, DON’T INCLUDE ME IN YOUR “LOTS OF PEOPLE”. IF you were a caring person, you’d write a letter of apology, so then you could join our crowd who have all joined together when we say “THANKS TC AND EB FOR ALL YOU’VE DONE FOR ALL OF US”. We’ll all be watching for your humble letter.
Ray, if you don’t like Cloudeight Infoave site ,don’t go on it and don’t complain about the news letter, don’t subscribe to it!! I have been a member since 2000 and never took a computer lesson ,every thing I have learned about computers and products that can be safely used on the computer is from TC and EB.Just continue making this web site the most honest ,educational and interesting site it is now. Thank you for all the computer info and help.I would never trust anyone else to go in my computer to fix it,I bought 3 tickets when cloudeight first came out with them, and it is great to know I can trust them to fix it someday when needed. Thanks so much TC and EB,may 2013 be a wonderful year for you both.
