Search Faster Searching by File Type in Windows 10

In Windows 10, you can find things faster by searching for files by file type. For instance, in this case, I  am looking for a PDF file. So, I  opened Start (you can also use taskbar search) and typed infiles:pdfand Windows returned a list of PDF files on my computer:

See? I have a pretty long list. Note the scroll bar on the right.

If you’re looking for a list of all the PNG files on your computer, type: “Photos:PNG” (no quotes, of course). Or if you have a troop of music files, type Music:MP3  (for example)and you’ll get a list of MP3 music files on your computer. You get the idea.

You can do the same thing for Apps, Settings, Folders and more. Just follow the same syntax of “file-type:specifier”.

The only easier way to find what you’re looking for is just to ask EB! That’s what I do. “Hey! EB! Where’s my paycheck?”
