We don’t normally find stuff that just reaches out and begs us to share it with you. But we found this article both fun and amusing. We don’t think the suggestions in it will work to help you cut down on spam, but for those of you who have time on your hands and like to try new things; this might be fun for you. If you try it – let us know what happens.
This article appeared (January 5, 2011) on Gizmodo. You can read the entire article by using the link at end. You have to admire ingenuity, even if this kind of thing has about as much of chance of stopping spam as sticking a pickle in one of your computer’s USB ports. However, if you have an ex-boss, ex-spouse, ex-friend or almost-ex-friend, this tip will probably put an end to their emails.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

“Marketers. Exes. Bosses who somehow got ahold of your personal email address. Sure, you could make a filter or click ‘report spam’ (as if that actually does anything…), but wouldn’t it be better if they just stopped emailing you altogether?
Oh, they will now. Check this trick out:
You ever email someone and get that “Delivery Permanently Failed” bounceback from some mailer-daemon? Everybody has. Here’s how to make the daemon (whatever the hell it is) work for you.
Here’s how you do it:
1. Hit Reply.
2. Edit the subject line by adding the words DELIVERY FAILURE: ahead of the original.
3. At the top of the body, simply paste in the quoted text below.
4. Enjoy your life.
MAILER-DAEMON: DELIVERY HAS PERMANENTLY FAILED TO THIS RECIPIENT OR DELIVERY LIST.
An error occurred while trying to deliver this message to the recipient’s e-mail address. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. User does not exist…
this is very funny & clever at the same time!!
So far, my Outlook stops them but I’ll sure save this for later, tee hee
