We Just Wanted to Say Thanks Once Again!

Once in a while, we like to remind you how much we appreciate what you do for us. Once in a while, we like to send you a big THANK YOU for always being there for us.

We started our small business almost 26 years ago. This autumn, good lord willing, we’ll celebrate our 27th anniversary. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been around that long.

Not that there haven’t been days and weeks when we’ve wondered how long we’d be able to hang around, but every time, you folks come through for us. And we always try to come through for you too.

When we started, we were one of thousands of small “mom & pop” sites that popped up all over the Web; in those days, the Web was mostly comprised of mom & pop sites like ours. Over the years, we have watched as one after another of those mom-and-pop sites died unceremonious deaths. The people behind them, once full of hope, abandoned their dreams and walked away. The trail of tears left behind circles the globe many times.

We know this because we watched it happen.

As with all things, it seems, that when there’s money to be made, by hook or crook, the financial wizards, the capital venturists, well-funded startups, and criminals come flocking. We watched as big money and big corporations gobbled up everything on the Web, until today, big money and big business control over 90% of the Web. Small, mom & pops sites like ours are an endangered species. There are not many left.

With all the money flowing via the web, you can be certain that the criminals looking for easy money, will always be trying to find new ways to trick you out of your money, And soon it will get even worse as AI (artificial intelligence) gives the crooks even more ways to trick you and steal your money.

But we are still fighting for you. And we will not go gently into that good night.

We have fought the good fight and we always tell you the truth as we see it. We’ve butted heads with multi-million-dollar sites that made their fortunes by tricking unsuspecting users into buying their worthless products.

We have exposed dozens of one-click fix scams that promise to fix your computer with a single click. Using TV, email, and web advertising they all try to trick you into buying their snake oil by using slick, professionally produced TV commercials or websites and advertisements designed to sell you all-in-one PC Fixer snake oil software or other worthless software or services.

We fight for the truth, we fight for you, and we still fight every day to provide you with the information, the best advice, and the best computer care & repair service.

We’re not wealthy. We’ve long since abandoned that dream. We have turned down thousands of dollars in commissions because we refuse to recommend or sell anything we don’t believe in and/or wouldn’t use on our own computers.

We turned down offers that would have paid us $70 or more per sale. But we turned them all down. We’ll never sell out our friends our friends no matter what. We never give it a second thought. We would never sell you for $7 or $70 or $700 or $7000.

Sure, we know that some of the other tech sites don’t hesitate to recommend products with little value that pay high commissions. And yes, it’s probably true that those sites and companies are rolling in the money.

But at least we can sleep at night.

You’ve probably noticed that the number of products we recommend and endorse is rather sparse. There are only a few. Emsisoft and Reg Organizer are both top-notch products with superior support – we recommend both and we use both on our personal and business computers. We also recommend the OE Classic email program for those who yearn for a simple email client that will remind you of Outlook Express and Windows Mail. OE Classic’s developer does a great job of providing support to his customers.

Just about every week we get an email or two from companies that want to make a deal with us to have us recommend their products or services. But we refuse to sell you out. We refuse to sell a product or service we would not use ourselves, no matter how much we need the money.

Besides the products we recommend, we offer Cloudeight Direct Computer Care – the best computer care & repair service anywhere. We offer personal support and excellent prices. Our Cloudeight Direct Computer Care services provide us with some income.

We have been fortunate to have been blessed with so many friends who help us by making donations (gifts). Sometimes we are overwhelmed by your generosity. You don’t know how much your gifts help to keep us up and running. We don’t have words enough to tell you how much we appreciate you.

What we give you in return is our best. We will only provide you with the best service, the best advice, and the best products. That will never change. We will never sell you out because we need the money.

How can we thank those of you who lend us a helping hand? There is no thank you big enough, nor any words heartfelt enough., to tell you how much we appreciate you and the support and friendship you give.

I think the best way to thank you isn’t with just words, but to promise you that we will keep fighting for you and keep trying to keep you safe… not by scaring you, but by informing you. Not with sensationalism but with the truth. By endorsing only products that are of the best quality – ones that we use ourselves, by always being there for you whenever you need us, and answering every email you send us.

Most of all by thinking of you as our friends.

I hope you all know how much you mean to us and how much we value your friendship and all you do for us.

Thank you all so much!

I for one appreciate you both so much I could never put it into words. Being 86 and about to turn 87 before long, it gets harder and harder to maneuver the internet and everyone from doctor offices, banks and just everything and everyone want you to do business with them online. You can no longer call them up and do business. Its frustrating. Please hang in there. We need you. We will always do what we can to keep you aloat. Nancy

I’ve been reading your newsletters and other info you have posted for the past 24 years and using some of the products you recommend. Thank you for helping this old guy move into the world of computers and the Internet.

We are the ones who need to thank you both. I’ve donated a few times and wish I could donate more. You definitely deserve more. I am so very thankful I ran across Cloudeight Stationery many years ago. You have blossomed since then into something spectacular. (I do miss the stationery.) I pray that you will still be around when this old lady uses her computer for the last time. Bless you both!

I live at the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand (about as far from you as I can probably get) and yet I feel I know you as if you were my neighbour. I look forward to your weekly newsletters and always get so much from them which makes my computer use much more knowledgeable. When I have needed help for a problem you are the go-to people and your expertise is always very much appreciated. Like some of your other oldies I am not now in a position to be able to support you as I would wish, but please know that we cannot do without you. May God Bless your every endeavour on our behalf. With my very sincerest thanks . Rona

You’ve been the one source of information I have consistently found to be mindful of our needs since 1999 (??). When I’ve needed a system repair because I messed up, you’ve been there. When I’ve asked a question, as I did last week, you’ve been there. When I wondered why my Emsisoft wasn’t updating, you’ve been there (of course it was to remind me I hadn’t opened it up in months and had let my subscription lapse) and quite courteously and kindly let me know how to fix myself up. When there’s a problem or scam or major development that we need to know about, you’ve told me. What would I do without you? Who else could I trust? Sure I have two friends around my age (ahem – late 70’s) who have a “guy” they can call and he’ll dial into their computer but as they each tell me, the guy isn’t cheap. But you are eminently affordable. I have the repair pass from 2 years ago and know it will be good when I need it. You’re stuck with me whether you like it or not. May you both be blessed.

TC and Darcy…you both have been my “go-to” for many years! And you guys have never steered me wrong! Whether it’s been a simple question or a complicated computer issue, you’ve always taking the time to help! I truly appreciate all you’ve done for “us” ! Here’s hoping for many, many years to come! Thank you so very much for everything!
