I surprised myself. I used IE for years until my XP could not update the browser anymore. I switched to Chrome and had a good experience with it. I had tried it before and the tabs confused me to no end. But the second time for some reason it clicked. When I got my new computer I thought I might as well use IE again but have gone back to Chrome.
IE became so slow on my XP that I decided to go to Chrome. Now I wouldn’t go back, have used Chrome for a few years now.
Mine also. It was like a turtle going from one site to another and just trying to do the e-mail, whether you were reading or composing!
I like Internet Explorer but am now also now using Chrome because many of the sites I go to recommend it over IE. Being that I don’t like change (who does) I’m really still learning the various capabilities and setting of Chrome. I’m sure as time goes by and I’m more familiar with Chrome it will end up being my default browser.
I started with Netscape, way back when, before IE came out. Then IE came out. I tried it and didn’t like it. So eventually Netscape became Firefox, and I used it. Tried IE again, still didn’t like it. Then Firefox got bloated and started crashing. I put up with it because IE was worse, imo. Then Chrome came out. I tried it and LOVED it. All the good things I loved about Firefox without any of the bad. I <3 Chrome. 🙂
I used Chrome from its inception but then had issues with crashing and security. I changed to Firefox a year ago and would not change back.
I used Internet Explorer and had no complaints. I only changed because of TJ insisting. I tried Chrome but could not get it to work for me. I haven been using Firefox for the last couple of months and I’m doing OK with it.

I swithed to Chrome several years ago and then went back to IE. I have been using Chrome for probably 2 yrs now & switched backed because I could no longer update IE on my XP. Now when I sign on w/IE, I feel like I am using an antiquated system (I am). Chrome works much better, though, on my XP. I will probably upgrade computers within the coming year and will still use Chrome. It’s faster and cleaner.
Due to the changes made to IE and Firefox they have become impossible to tolerate due to the mass of pop-ups that cannot be blocked. I have minimal problems with chrome currently, hopefully it remains that way.
I have been using Chrome for the past couple of years, mostly because of Cloudeight recommendations. I was very happy with it until recently when I have trouble gettings slideshows to load (other people have complained but Google doesn’t do anything) , websites to load and more recently, losing sites that have loaded and then fail. If I switch to IE there is nothing wrong with the sites, so It isn’t my computer or my ISPbut is a new problem with Chrome -I believe the result of an update a coupe of months ago. I am very likely going to go back to SE
I have been using Chrome for past few years but recently it has been causing problems loading slideshows, websites and some graphics that IE loads with no problem. Other people have complained about the same problems, new for me but the forum shows they have been ongoing and Google ignores it all.
I use both Chrome and Firefox, but I do prefer Firefox. I suppose that I got used to it as I was having trouble with Chrome. Darcy sent me instructions for the fonts, but they didn’t hold, so I tried Firefox and the fonts were more to my liking. As usual, Darcy and TC are a wealth of knowledge and their willingness to share everything with is. Bless the both of them!
I use Chrome almost all the time. The only time I use IE is when I need to look up something and don’t want to close out Chrome just to do the look up. I dislike bing with a passion…
I mainly use PaleMoon now. But also occasionally use ComodoDragon, SeaMonkey, Chrome, & IE.
Pale Moon is built on Firefox.
I’ve used firefox for 8 years now, IE is too slow but I do use it for banking and to check a website that I change about once a month … I also use Chrome just to check my website…
With firefox I use Greasemonkey for scripts and get no adds using Addblock plus …
It would have to be a SUPER browser to convince me to change from firefox.
I like Chrome but it crashes every time I try to download with it and I can’t get my password protector to work with Chrome. I use very strong passwords so need protector. IE is slow and freezes easily but I have to use it for most online logins.
I always liked IE but since there update, there has been to many issues with so I started to using Chrome.
I use Chrome and really do like it. I used IE for years, but found I really liked Chrome when it first came out; so I switched to Chrome and have been using it ever since. Once in a while, I will use IE just because a website seems to need IE, but I so dislike Bing and it’s toolbar. After a windows update it was so annoying! It wanted to install itself in my Startup Programs and woudn’t take no for an answer. I had to uninstall it to get rid of it, even though I had it disabled in both the Chrome and IE extensions. My preference is Chrome–it’s fast and clean!
My standard browser is IE but there is no doubt an element of laziness in that situation as there is no compelling reason to change.
I also have Chrome which I use sometimes as my favourites were imported by Chrome from IE and I lost some of them in IE.
I also use Safari for at least one task and that is my banking. I find its tile presentation of favourites to be convenient.
I have Bing up my sleeve but almost never use it.
Increasingly, I go straight to Google with its many added feature such as images etc.
I use Chrome 99% of the time on my laptop and really like it. It is lots faster than IE. Only problem I have with it is that one of the sites I go to won’t download any PDF files with Chrome without getting an error and not opening the PDF file. I have to use IE to download the PDF files from that site and don’t get an error with IE and the files will open normally. I don’t know if it has something to do with running Windows 8.1 on my laptop or not. On my desktop I have Windows Vista and use IE on it and don’t have any problems with it.
I use Chrome on my Android tablet, but FireFox is my favorite on my desktop. Use add blocker plus , and have no ads.
As nice as it is to have no ads, you’re hurting small sites like ours by blocking ads. If not for ads, you wouldn’t have any free television. And ad blockers never work on everything — because there are people who figure out how to get around them, and that’s why we now have to put up with floating ads, video ads, noisy ads. When your ad blocker folks learn how to block those, then developers will figure other annoying ways to get around your ad blocker — and around and around it goes.
Other browsers have ad blockers, including Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Just keep in mind when you visit small mom and pop sites like ours, blocking ads only hastens their demise. Something for you to think about.
I use SeaMonkey 99% of the time. I only use IE when it is absolutely necessary. I tried Chrome and couldn’t adapt to it. I keep reverting to SeaMonkey which is (to me) the old Netscape, the very first browser I used and still my all time favorite. SeaMonkey has all the extras I need and like, there are a few addons you can get but not many. It does have tab browsing and all the normal basic functions for watching videos, etc. Best part about it is I don’t need an extra program for building web pages as it has its own web page composer built in with both text and WYSIWYG creation options.
SeaMonkey is actually built on Firefox.
I’m back on IE 8. Every time I engage Chrome, my sound breaks up on all my audio emails. I use Gmail as my main email, but I also use Road Runner and Hotmail once in a while. I like Chrome, but I also want to hear all my emails wether it be music or just plain talk, like on U tube. When I remove Chrome, everything works fine,

I would like to use Chrome since so many have had good luck with it BUT I really don’t know how to use it very much. Could you send us some instructions on how to use Chrome? With XP going I need something instead of IE 8. It is just SOOOO POOR anymore. I use Firefox too but don’t know how to use it real well either. It does seem easier than Chrome. I am keping my XP for as long as I can use it because I don’t like what is out there to buy to replace it. And I notice the prices are higher for most too unless it was just Office Depot. Have not looked anywhere else yet. My grandaughter has a Micrsoft surface and i like it but not sure if it would fit me .
I have Chrome as my primary browser. I really, really like it. I, too, like being able to get images on Chrome. It was a little confusing using Chrome at first, but I soon got used to it. I recommend it.
I use Internet Explorer because I want to support Cloudeight by using their start page, and I don’t think it can be used with Chrome. I would be willing to try Chrome if this is possible
I have been using firefox for years but also have installed chrome.
I never liked IE EVER. Firefox is more to my liking, the wife likes
chrome she says its faster. I don’t like the bottom roboform in chrome bar,
at times it doesn’t show. Maybe chrome is faster I keep it for
a backup as I delete IE.
I have always used IE then Cloudeight suggested Chrome and I used that for awhile. Then it started to crash a lot and not finding the normal things I looked up. Plus for me it was a bit confusing. Recently I had to get a new computer Windows 8, but I use IE as my primary but have Chrome available too. For me EI is just easier to use.
I use IE most of the time. Due to some problems getting some programs from the net, I started with Firefox and use that on certain programs. When (if) I get high speed, I may try Chrome, too.
Google Chrome is OK, Firefox is Google riding on another animals back. I like Duck Duck Go, search anonymously, find instantly. DuckDuckGo is a search engine that does not track you and, has more instant answers and less spam and clutter compared to GC & Ff.
SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome – but without the critical points that creates privacy concerns.
I just noticed that the calendar that is to the side of the Poll question – what browser do you use? A Cloudeight poll has
incorrect dates on it. Today is Friday, Feb. 21st and that calendar shows Friday, Feb. 22nd. I got out another one of
my calendars to make sure mine is correct…….and it is. Have been using it to make Dr. appts. Maybe nobody else
has noticed the problem but me.
I don’t know, you’ll have to call PollDaddy and complain. We get the poll results and that’s all that matters, I tells ya!
I, unthinkingly, ticked “Other”, since Pale Moon wasn’t listed. Then remembered that it is by
Firefox…….so I suppose that should have been my answer. I do use Pale Moon and like it a lot.
I upgraded to IE 10 and have had many problems ever since. I don’t like IE 10. Not sure how to go to my previous version or how to go Chrome???
You can to back to IE9 by going to Control Panel, Windows Updates, View Update History and look for Internet Explorer 10. Remove it. Since Microsoft won’t let you remove Internet Explorer from Windows, it will revert to Internet Explorer 9 (or whatever the previous version you had installed when you upgraded). You install Chrome like you install any other program — go to http://www.google.com/chrome, download Chrome and install it.

why does chrome insist on installing claro, that is not good
Chrome installs only Chrome; your computer is infected with malware. No doubt all other browsers on your computer are infected as well.
