The features of the Windows 10 start menu

Microsoft announced Windows 10 yesterday during a media briefing in San Francisco and surprised the world with that name.

The company has uploaded video footage of the briefing to YouTube for everyone to see. One of the features of the new operating system that got demoed quite a bit during the briefing was the new start menu that the company plans to integrate into Windows 10.

As you may recall, Microsoft removed the start menu from Windows 8 and put a basic one back into the system when Windows 8.1 launched.

The Windows 10 start menu is not identical to the Windows 7 one. While both share similarities, there are also differences which this guide explores.

All information come from the recording of the event which you can watch below. The start menu demo begins at around 13:07 and the presentation of that part ends at about 17:00.

Just a suggestion: It would be really helpful if you could give a hint as to the subject of the contents of each InfoAve Daily instead of the phrase “InfoAve Daily” since we already know what it is when we see Cloudeight Information Avenue as the source of the message. I save to a folder most of your excellent tips and ‘heads-ups’, but when I want to access one weeks or months later, I have to open each one to see if it’s the one I’m searching to recall. Thanks for considering this…

HI! I also receive InfoAve Daily. What I do is reforward the e-mail to myself. In the subject I enter the date and any information I want to disguish that particular e-mail. With entering the date in the subject line first, ie: 2014-10-02 this way when I save that e-mail it is in date order automatically by year -mon-day.

When I receive this email I look it over and decide what I want to keep. I go to Clearprint, make a few changes ie: click on the print to lighten it and use the smaller print. I save paper and ink doing this.
Then I file them in a folder. Will love reading them from time to time.

    Thank you T.C.
