Hi you guys. I tried installing the Winter House screensaver and I got this message that reads: Cannot create file C:\Windows\winterhouse\sct. I thought I read some where that Win 10 could not use screensavers because of some file that was missing? I didn’t really pay much attention to it and now I should have.
Anyway, it was a nice thought.

This is covered on the page. You have to right-click the installer and choose “Run as Administrator”. The screen saver has been tested on XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I, for some reason, cannot download X-mas Screen Saver. Get same message as Bill does above. Thanks for all you have done this year for myself and all C8 fans. Have yourselves a wonderful holiday with family and friends.

I also cannot install the winter screen saver. Where exactly are you right clicking on the installer. I cannot find a place to right click that comes up with ‘run as administrator’.
You have to right-click on the EXE file.

i figured it out .. didn’t know what an exe file was or where it was but found it just randomly clicking links
Good, but clicking things to find out what they are, can be dangerous…
Not ever file has “Run as administrator” in the right-click menu…only programs that run (execute) do – i.e. programs, installers, etc.
