Cloudeight site pick…Hey Paste It!

By | March 16, 2011

Hey! Paste It!We’re going to have to explain this site very well because the site doesn’t explain itself at all. I guess they figure you’ll figure it out or you won’t. You gotta love his laid-back attitude. Apparently though, even though the site’s developer doesn’t care if you know what it is, a lot of folks have figured it out, because it’s so useful. And apparently the guy’s still around because the copyright date says 2011. Maybe he has and auto-copyright script? Quien Sabe?

Well, anywhale, as we say, let’s get to the point before you think that there isn’t one.

Have you ever purchased a software program that allows you to install it on more than one computer and wanted to copy your license key from one computer to another? As you probably know you can’t copy and paste from one computer to another. If you don’t know this, then skip this article. We’ll assume that most of you know this though. So there was no good way of getting your license key from one computer to another other than emailing it to yourself which is often not convenient – is it? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could copy from one computer and copy/paste it on another?

Hey Paste it! Yes that’s the name of today’s Cloudeight site pick. You can copy any text (sorry no pictures, graphics, etc. folks, just text) from one computer to another. And this is not only good for software license keys but signature files you use in your email program, links to favorite sites, and all kinds of stuff that escape me at the moment which, I’m sure, will come back to haunt me when I’m done writing this.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice was not only the title of a Beach Boys’ song, it’s also the theme song for our site of the week. Not really. If you copy and paste as much as we do, then you’ll see the usefulness of our site of the week. If you don’t, you won’t. And if you don’t know how to copy and paste at all, oh dear!. You need to see our old, but still useful tutorial on copy and paste here.

Hey Paste It! allows you to copy text from one computer and retrieve it on another. Just visit our site pick “Hey Paste It”, paste in some text – a link will be generated and simple three character clip number will be assigned. Go to your other computer, go to http://heypasteit.com/ and type in your clip number and there is your clip. Copy and paste it on your other computer. It’s handier than an albatross at sea – that’s for sure!

If you ignore this great Cloudeight site pick – just wait until you something like this -then you’ll wish you were an albatross at sea, because somewhere in the back of your mind you’re going to remember that you read this somewhere and won’t remember when … or where (much to our chagrin).
